Roles & Responsibilities

Purpose of the Job

Assistant distribution Manager is responsible for overseeing the distribution of products in A class markets, managing to deliver all the Presales orders to the markets across the UAE within the set schedule in a very efficient & cost-effective manner, by ensuring customer satisfaction and on time delivery without missing the market window timing.

Assistant distribution manager also responsible for managing the distribution team, schedule, and dynamic route and journey plan on day-to-day basis by utilizing the fleet, manpower, resources at optimum level.

Key Accountabilities in detail with sub tasks

Route Planning

· Implement distribution strategies and plans to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of product to the A class market as per schedule by analyzing customer demand.

· Continuously evaluating and improving the route plan and identifying opportunity to optimize the efficiency and cost effectiveness.

· Manage delivery schedule and routes of distribution team within assigned areas and ensure that the products are delivered successfully within the markets window time.

· Coordinate & monitor progress of product deliveries and ensure receipt, vehicles, loads, and journey plan is in compliance with company set standard.

· Assist coordinators & devise routes for shipments and ensure distribution regulations are complaint with UAE Law.

· Identifying and mitigating risks within the distribution process, by analyzing potential risks, such as supply chain disruptions, and prepare alternate plans to minimize their impact for business continuity.

· Evaluating and validating the route plans to the distribution zones for new customers in a cost effective and timely manner.

· Analyze distribution efficiency and propose improvement plans, monitor and track the industry trends to ensure best practices are applied and new technologies are introduced into the distribution operations.

Fleet Management

· Maximizing fleet utilization by monitoring vehicle utilization rates, identifying under / over utilized vehicles usage, route plan, delivery schedule to increase operational efficiency.

· Monitoring fuel consumption, analyzing fuel efficiency, and prepare plan to reduce fuel costs.

· Track and control fuel expenses, promote fuel-efficient driving practices, and explore alternative fuel options.

· Ensure vehicle preventive maintenance, scheduling routine inspections, maintenance and repair activities are performed as per schedule and vehicles are properly serviced and in optimal condition to minimize downtown.

· Coordinate with Garage in case of vehicle breakdowns and ensure repairs is done on time without disrupting the delivery.

HSE / Regulatory Compliance

· Ensuring compliance related to vehicle safety, emissions, and licensing and stay updated on regulatory changes, maintain proper documentation, and oversee periodic inspections and certifications.

· Ensuring drivers are qualified, trained, and compliant with internal HSE and traffic regulations to avoid any penalties, vehicle confiscation and road accident.

· Implement health & safety standards and ensure the fleet is complying with company QA & HSE regulations and requirements.

· Review audit findings and prepare action plan to comply with the audit guidelines.

Reports & Performance Management

· Assist in preparations of budget & evaluate the operational expenses vs budget.

· Ensure lean distribution operations with regular reporting of actuals vs budget.

· Prepare Daily / Weekly / Monthly reports highlight the key findings trends and pattern to the manager for further improvement.

· Completion of PMDP cycle within the organization criteria and set time frame (Concept training, objective setting, Mid-Year, Final Year Review).

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualification / Certification

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably on Supply Chain
  • Problem Solving
  • Root Cause Analysis, Data Analysis, Collaboration & Communication, Process Improvement, Time Management, Risk Assessment, Customer satisfaction.
  • Analytical Approach
  • Data Analysis able to analyze trends and patterns.
  • Position Characteristics (Personality & emotional characteristics)
  • Effective Communication, Cross functional coordination, problem solver, team player, self-motivator, and motivating others.

Must have proficiency in English Language

Experience in FMCG industry

- Candidate must have experience on dynamic route planning (rodent planning)

- Leadership skills, performance management, data analysis
